SINGLE SHOT TARGET PISTOL. Cal. 22LR. S# M219G. Bbl 10" with band mounted dovetail blade front sight & sporting rear. Mfg. in small quantities in the early 1900's. The design was based loosely around the 1900/1902 rifle design. Existing examples vary widely in their pistol grip design. This example features a smooth schnabel tipped one-piece pinned walnut grip. "WP" proofs on bolt and bbl ahead of rear sight. The design, however, never gained traction and these experimental/prototype pistols were never placed into standard production making them very scarce today. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Leatherette covered hardwood shadow lined carry case containing wooden cartridge box and 3 boxes of Winchester Super Speed 22LR ammo (2 empty, 1 full). CONDITION: Very good overall. Barrel retains 85% thinning original finish with sharp edge wear. Bolt knob shows area of cleaned oxidation. Stock is very good & original with only a few scattered scratches and handling marks. Bright shiny bore with crisp rifling. Case is sound, covering shows numerous scuffs with area of loss at top and bottom edges. PROVENANCE: From the Lifetime Collection of Malcolm Zickler, Ret. USAF Lt. Col. (26-645/BH) CURIO. $1,500-2,500.
